Digital Signage Industry Standards Group Expands Scope

POPAI’s Digital Signage Standards Committee expanded its scope and direction as a result  the April 9 committee call at which 50 industry leaders from around the world decided to create three new committees to focus on critically needed standards for Screen Media Formats, Media Players Interoperability and Server Intercommunications.  The resulting industry standards will provide uniform terminology, technical criteria and processes to accelerate industry growth, improve interoperability, deliver measurements and create new and innovative businesses to delivers digital content that engages audiences in a broad array of environments.

Industry leaders view POPAI, the industry’s only non-profit trade association, and its Digital Signage Group as an unbiased and independent organization that is ideally suited to facilitate the Digital Signage industry’s standards body, publish and maintain industry standards and help to achieve acceptance across all industry stakeholders.  The Standards Committee is chaired by Michael Willems, Chief Technology Officer at Enqii Holding, PLC.
